Matthew Reinhart
Matthew Christian Reinhart, born September 21, 1971, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is an American writer, illustrator, and paper engineer renowned for his intricate children's pop-up books. Initially studying biology and industrial design at Clemson University and Pratt Institute, he apprenticed with Robert Sabuda before creating bestsellers like the Encyclopedia Prehistorica series, Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy, and collaborations such as Mommy? with Maurice Sendak. He continues to craft pop-up masterpieces inspired by fantasy, science fiction, and pop culture from his studio in New York City.
