Matthew Mead

Matthew Mead (1629–1699) was an English Independent minister and divine born in Bedfordshire, known for his moderate opinions that linked Presbyterians and Independents in 17th-century England. He authored significant religious works including 'The Almost Christian' and served as pastor of a dissenting congregation in Stepney, London. He died at age 70 in 1699 and was buried at Stepney.
