Matthew L. Helm ,

Matthew L. Helm is a professor of English at the University of Iowa, specializing in twentieth and twenty-first century transnational American literature and culture, with a focus on LGBT+ literature, mass media and communication studies, and queer/trans theories. His current book project, *Transmediations: Queer Literature, Media Technology, and the Archive*, examines the role of media technology in queer revolutions from the 1930s to the present. He has taught at TU Dortmund in Germany and engages in public humanities initiatives, including producing a book on Iowa food history.
