Matthew B Crawford

Matthew B. Crawford is an American philosopher, author, and mechanic best known for books such as *Shop Class as Soulcraft*, *The World Beyond Your Head*, and *Why We Drive*. He studied physics as an undergraduate before earning a PhD in political philosophy from the University of Chicago, and he has been affiliated with the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia while also working on motorcycles and running a repair business in Richmond, Virginia.
