Masatake Kuranishi

Masatake Kuranishi was a Japanese mathematician born on July 19, 1924, in Tokyo, Japan, who specialized in complex variables, partial differential equations, and differential geometry[1][2]. He held professorial positions at Nagoya University and Columbia University, where he served as the Davies Professor of Mathematics until his retirement in 1999[1][4].
