Maryann Cocca-Leffler
Maryann Cocca-Leffler is an award-winning author and illustrator of over 70 children's books, born on July 25, 1958, in Everett, Massachusetts, to an Italian family.[1][2][4] She earned a B.F.A. in illustration from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1980 and began her career with her first self-illustrated book, 'Wednesday is Spaghetti Day,' published in 1990.[1][2][5] Now residing in Portland, Maine, her works often draw from family experiences, including books on disability rights inspired by her daughter Janine, and her popular 'Let It...' series has sold over two million copies.[3][5][6]
