Mary Norris

Mary Norris is an American author and former copy editor for The New Yorker, where she worked for over thirty years. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she graduated from Rutgers University in 1974 and earned a master's degree in English from the University of Vermont. Her bestselling books include Between You & Me: Confessions of a Comma Queen (2015) and Greek to Me: Adventures of the Comma Queen (2019), blending memoir with insights on language, editing, and her passion for classical Greek.
