Mary Griffith

Mary Griffith (1772–1846) was an American writer, horticulturist, and scientist born in France and later active in the United States. She published scientific and literary work in journals and newspapers, and is noted for writing *Three Hundred Years Hence*, regarded as the first known utopian novel by an American woman.
