Mary Anne Baker

Mary Anne Baker was an American gospel hymn writer and temperance advocate best known for the widely sung hymn "Master, the Tempest Is Raging," first published in 1874. She lived in Chicago and was active in the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union, writing hymns and participating in gospel temperance work.
