Mary Amato
Mary Amato is an award-winning author of over 25 books for children and young adults, as well as poems, plays, essays, and short fiction for adults.[1][2] She debuted as a children's book author in 2000 with The Word Eater and teaches workshops on creative writing, songwriting, and the creative process nationwide.[1][2][3] Amato holds a B.S. in special education and dance from Indiana University and an M.A. in creative writing from Johns Hopkins University, and she lives in Silver Spring, Maryland.[2][3]
