Martin J. Dougherty

Martin J. Dougherty is a prolific British author, military historian, and weapons expert born on Christmas Day 1969 in Sunderland, Northeast England. He specializes in non-fiction works on military history, ancient warfare, mythology, and self-defense, while also writing military science fiction and fantasy, and has worked as a consultant for TV documentaries. A martial arts practitioner with four black belts, he serves as President of the British Federation for Historical Swordplay and turned professional writer in 1999.
