Martin Crowley

Mart Crowley (1935–2020) was an American playwright best known for the groundbreaking 1968 play "The Boys in the Band," which brought openly gay life to mainstream theater. Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, he later worked in theater, television, and publishing, and his work is widely recognized for its cultural impact on LGBTQ representation.
