Marshall Clagett

Marshall Clagett (1916–2005) was an American historian of science who specialized first in medieval science, particularly the work and influence of Archimedes, and later in Ancient Egyptian science.[1][2] He authored major multi-volume works such as Archimedes in the Middle Ages and Ancient Egyptian Science, establishing the history of science as a recognized discipline in American universities.[1][2][3] Clagett was Professor Emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, where he served for four decades until 1986.[3][6]
