Mark W. Spong

Mark W. Spong is an American roboticist and control theorist recognized as a foundational leader in robotics, known for his pioneering research in nonlinear control, passivity-based methods, and teleoperation. He is a professor at the University of Texas at Dallas and previously served as the Donald Biggar Willett Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois, where he made significant contributions to control education and laboratory development.
