Mark Teague

Mark Teague (born 1963) is an American author and illustrator of children's books who has created over 40 books including the Poppleton series, First Graders from Mars series, and How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?[1][2] Despite having no formal art training, Teague launched his career after graduating from UC Santa Cruz in 1985, when a travel sketchbook he showed to Barnes & Noble supervisors led to a job designing signs, which became his entry into children's publishing.[3][4] Scholastic published his first book, The Trouble with the Johnsons, in 1989, and he was named one of 11 prominent new authors by Publishers Weekly.[3]
