Mark Peterson

Mark Peterson is a historian specializing in early North America and the Atlantic world, serving as the Edmund S. Morgan Professor of History at Yale University since 2018.[1][4] He earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University and previously taught at the University of Iowa (1998-2007) and UC Berkeley (2007-2018), where he chaired the History Department from 2015-2018.[1][2] His notable books include *The City-State of Boston: The Rise and Fall of an Atlantic Power, 1630-1865* (2019) and *The Price of Redemption: The Spiritual Economy of Puritan New England* (1997), with two forthcoming works on the U.S. Constitution and related topics.[1][2]
