Mark P. Zanna

Mark P. Zanna (1944–2020) was a renowned Canadian social psychologist, best known for his pioneering research on attitudes, attitude change, prejudice, stereotyping, and cognitive dissonance. He earned his BA and PhD from Yale University in 1966 and 1970, respectively, taught at Princeton before joining the University of Waterloo in 1975, where he spent 39 years rising to University Professor and mentoring generations of students. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, he received the Killam Prize for Social Sciences in 2011 and edited the Advances in Experimental Social Psychology series.
