Mark Miodownik
Mark Andrew Miodownik is a British materials scientist, engineer, broadcaster, and writer, born in 1969, who studied materials science at Oxford University, earning his PhD in turbine jet engine alloys in 1996. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Sandia National Laboratories in the US, specializing in computer modeling of alloys, before becoming a lecturer at King's College London in 2000 and later Professor of Materials & Society at University College London. His research spans materials science, metallurgy, biomechanics, and he is known for popular science writing and founding the Materials Library.
