Mark Alan Stamaty
Mark Alan Stamaty is an American cartoonist, children's book author, and illustrator born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947, the only child of two professional cartoonists.[1][2] He graduated from Cooper Union with a BFA in 1969 and gained prominence for panoramic cartoons, political strips like Washingtoon and Boox, and children's books such as Who Needs Donuts? and Alia's Mission.[2][5][6] His work has appeared in publications including The Village Voice, Time, The New York Times Book Review, and The New Yorker, earning awards like multiple Society of Illustrators medals.[1][5]
