Mario Valdes

Mario J. Valdés (1934–2020) was a literary scholar of Mexican descent who built the Centre for Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto and served as a professor there for many years. He was known as an Unamuno specialist, Ricoeur commentator, hermeneutic theorist, and literary historian, and he also served as president of the Modern Language Association.
