Marie-Louise Gay is a Canadian author and illustrator of children's books, best known for her Stella and Sam series, which has been translated into over 15 languages.[1][2][3] Born in Quebec City, she studied animation at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts School and illustration in San Francisco, and has won multiple awards including two Governor General's Literary Awards.[3][5][2] She lives in Montreal and has authored or illustrated over 60 books inspired by her childhood, travels, and family.[4][5][6]
