Marianne Malone
Marianne Malone is a novelist and painter known for her children's fantasy series including The Sixty-Eight Rooms, Stealing Magic, The Pirate’s Coin, and The Secret of the Key, published by Random House, which follow two sixth-graders discovering a magic key to enter the Thorne Miniature Rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago.[1][2][3] A former art teacher, she co-founded the Campus School Middle School for Girls in Urbana, Illinois, and is the mother of three.[1][2][5] A 12th-generation English American, 5th-generation Irish American, and 4th-generation German American, her debut novel The Sixty-Eight Rooms was a first-time effort and received awards like an E.B. White Read Aloud Finalist.[1][3]
