Marianne Boruch

Marianne Boruch is an American poet, essayist, and memoirist born in Chicago on June 19, 1950, who earned her MFA from the University of Massachusetts and founded Purdue University's MFA program in creative writing, where she taught from 1987 until becoming Professor Emeritus in 2018. She has authored over a dozen poetry collections, including *Bestiary Dark* (2021), *The Anti-Grief* (2019), and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award-winning *The Book of Hours* (2011), as well as essay collections like *The Little Death of Self* (2017) and memoirs such as *The Glimpse Traveler* (2011). Her work has earned fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and residencies including the Rockefeller Bellagio Center.
