Maria van Lieshout

Maria van Lieshout is a Dutch-American illustrator and graphic novelist born and raised near Amsterdam in 1967.[3] She studied Visual Communications at George Washington University and worked in design before becoming a full-time illustrator in 2000.[1] She is known for her children's books and graphic novels, including her first graphic novel 'Song of a Blackbird' (Het lied van de merel).[1][4]
