Margery Williams

Margery Williams Bianco (1881–1944) was an English-American author best known for her classic children's book The Velveteen Rabbit, published in 1922. Born in London to a barrister and classical scholar father and a scholarly mother, she moved to the United States at age nine, living between the US and England thereafter, and began her writing career at 19 with adult novels before focusing on children's literature.[1][2][3]
