Marge McDonald
Margaret McDonald is a Scottish author from Glasgow, known for her debut novel *Glasgow Boys* published in 2024, which won the Carnegie Medal for Writing in 2025 and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2025. A former NHS employee, first-generation student, and disabled author, she holds an MLitt with Distinction in English Literature from Glasgow University and a First-Class BA (Hons) in Creative Writing with English Literature from Strathclyde University. Her writing explores themes of the working class experience, student life, mental health, trauma, inequality, identity, and the Scottish healthcare system, with publications in magazines like *Breath and Shadow*, *Bandit Fiction*, and *Bubble Lit Mag*.
