Margaret Wild
Margaret Wild is an acclaimed Australian children's author born in Eshowe, South Africa, in 1948, who grew up in Johannesburg before moving to Australia in the early 1970s. She began her career as a journalist and book editor, publishing her first children's books in 1984, and has since authored over 70 picture books and young adult novels exploring themes like loss, family, and identity. Her works have earned numerous awards, including the Nan Chauncy Award in 2008 and the Australia Council Award for Lifetime Achievement in Literature in 2020.[1][2][3]
