Margaret Mayo
Margaret Mayo (1882–1951) was an American playwright, actress, and screenwriter known for her work in early 20th-century theater and film, including adaptations of popular novels. She was born Lillian Elizabeth Slatten in Brownsville, Illinois, and later married Edgar Selwyn before becoming a prominent figure in American drama. Her legacy includes contributions to plays such as 'Baby Mine' and 'Polly of the Circus'.
