Marcelo Dascal
Marcelo Dascal was an Israeli philosopher and linguist born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1940 to a family with roots in Bukowina. He served as Professor of Philosophy at Tel Aviv University since 1967, including as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities from 1995 to 2000, and made significant contributions to pragmatics, philosophy of mind, epistemology, and the dialectics of argumentation. Dascal passed away in 2019.
