Malcolm Slesser
Malcolm Slesser (1926-2007) was a Scottish mountaineer, explorer, chemist, engineer, and author who trained as a chemical engineer and founded the Energy Studies unit at the University of Strathclyde, where he became its first professor. He was an early advocate for environmental conservation and natural resource sustainability, developing the Natural Capital Accounting approach to macro-economic analysis. His work focused on the interconnections between energy, economics, and environmental protection.
