Majid Khadduri

Majid Khadduri (1908-2007) was an Iraqi scholar and founding faculty member of the Middle East Studies Program at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies, where he created the country's first graduate program on the modern Middle East in 1950. Recognized internationally as a leading authority on Islamic law, international relations, and Middle Eastern politics, he authored over 30 books and served as a key figure in global academic discourse for more than 65 years, including roles as an Iraqi delegate to the United Nations in 1945 and director of Iraqi PEN.
