Lynn Hunt
Lynn Avery Hunt (born November 16, 1945) is the Eugen Weber Professor Emerita of Modern European History at UCLA, renowned for her expertise on the French Revolution, European cultural history, gender, and human rights. She earned her B.A. from Carleton College in 1967 and M.A. (1968) and Ph.D. (1973) from Stanford University, taught at UC Berkeley and the University of Pennsylvania before joining UCLA in 1998, and served as president of the American Historical Association in 2002. Her influential books include *Inventing Human Rights* (2007) and *History: Why It Matters* (2018).
