Luis Elizondo
Luis Elizondo is a former U.S. Army counterintelligence officer and Pentagon official who directed the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a secretive unit investigating unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs or UFOs), resigning in 2017 to protest excessive secrecy.[1][3] Son of a Cuban exile involved in the Bay of Pigs invasion, he enlisted in the Army in 1995, served in Korea, Kuwait, and elsewhere, and later managed counterterrorism and counterespionage operations in roles at ONCIX and ODNI.[1][2][3] He is the author of a 2024 memoir and holds degrees from the University of Miami in microbiology, immunology, chemistry, and mathematics.[1][2][3]
