Lucy Diggs

Lucy Diggs Slowe (1883–1937) was an American educator, athlete, and the first Black woman to serve as Dean of Women at any American university, specifically Howard University. She was a founder of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first sorority established by African-American women, and made significant contributions to advancing opportunities for Black women in academia[1][2][3].
