Louise Labé

Louise Labé was a French Renaissance poet from Lyon, active in the 16th century and associated with the Lyon school of humanist poets. She is best known for her lyric poetry and her prose work "Debat de Folie et d'Amour," and was also known as "La Belle Cordière" because her family was connected to rope making.
