Louis Pope Gratacap

Louis Pope Gratacap (1851-1917) was a US naturalist, museum curator at the American Museum of Natural History, and author. His early writings included nonfiction essays such as 'The Ice Age' for Popular Science Monthly in 1878, while his best-known science fiction novel was The Certainty of a Future Life in Mars (1903). He was a staunch supporter of mineralogical publications and contributed biographical memoirs.
