Lois Duncan

Lois Duncan (1934–2016) was a prolific American author best known for her psychological suspense and young adult novels, including *I Know What You Did Last Summer* and *Killing Mr. Griffin*, many of which were adapted into films and TV movies. Born Lois Duncan Steinmetz in Philadelphia to photographer parents, she published her first story at age 13, dropped out of college to marry and raise a family, and continued writing over 300 magazine articles and numerous books while teaching journalism at the University of New Mexico.
