Loet Velmans

Louis Abraham (Loet) Velmans was a Jewish Engelandvaarder, author, journalist, and prisoner of war who survived three and a half years in Japanese slave labor camps during World War II. He later became a pioneer in public relations, leading the largest PR agency globally, and authored the memoir Long Way Back to the River Kwai about his survival experiences.
