Llewellyn

Richard Llewellyn, born Richard Dafydd Vivian Llewellyn Lloyd, was a Welsh novelist and playwright best known for his 1939 bestseller *How Green Was My Valley*, a poignant depiction of life in a Welsh mining family that was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 1941.[1][2] He followed this success with novels like *None But the Lonely Heart* (1943), also filmed, and sequels to his famous work, alongside successful plays such as *Poison Pen* (1938) and *Noose* (1947).[1][6] Llewellyn's career included army service, film work, and journalism before his literary achievements.[1]
