Liz DeJesus

Liz DeJesus grew up in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, with two brothers, where she endured bullying that led her to find solace in writing poetry, stories, and keeping a journal.[1][2] She is a novelist, freelance writer, writing coach, and poet who has authored books including *The Jackets*, *The Frost Series*, *Morgan*, *The Laurel*, *Girl*, and *Mugshots*, while raising two children and working at bookstores, libraries, and schools.[1][2] She has organized literary projects like the Hockessin Book Fair and a mini comic-con at the Claymont Community Center.[1]
