Lisa Doris Alexander
Lisa Doris Alexander is a Professor of African American Studies at Wayne State University.[1][2][3] She earned her M.A. in Afro-American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999 and is the author of 'When Baseball Isn’t White, Straight, and Male: The Media and Difference in the National Pastime' (2012) and 'Expanding the Black Film Canon: Race and Genre Across Six Decades' (2019).[1][2] Her scholarly work appears in journals such as Black Ball, The American Historian, NINE, and The Journal of Popular Film and Television, focusing on sports, race, and film.[2]
