Lionel Bently

Lionel Bently is the Herchel Smith Professor of Intellectual Property Law at the University of Cambridge and Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Law. He is a leading scholar in intellectual property, co-author of influential texts such as *The Making of Modern Intellectual Property Law* and *Intellectual Property Law*, and was awarded an Honorary King's Counsel in 2023 for his contributions to the field. An associate tenant at 11 South Square chambers, he has held visiting professorships worldwide and was inducted into the Intellectual Property Hall of Fame.
