Lindsay Anderson
Lindsay Gordon Anderson (1923-1994) was an English film and stage director, critic, and a key figure in the Free Cinema and Angry Young Men movements. He began directing documentaries in 1948, winning an Academy Award in 1955 for the short *Thursday’s Children*, and later directed notable feature films including *This Sporting Life*, *if....*, *O Lucky Man!*, and *Britannia Hospital*, as well as stage productions at the Royal Court Theatre.[1][2]
