Linda Sue Park
Linda Sue Park is a Korean-American author of children's and young adult literature, best known for winning the 2002 Newbery Medal for her historical fiction novel A Single Shard. Born to Korean immigrant parents in Urbana, Illinois, she published her first novel Seesaw Girl in 1999 after a varied career including public relations, teaching ESL, and food journalism. Her works often explore Korean culture and history, and she remains active in promoting diverse books and children's literature.
