Linda Fairstein
Linda Fairstein is an American author and former prosecutor who served as head of the Sex Crimes Unit in the Manhattan District Attorney's office from 1976 to 2002, overseeing high-profile cases like the Central Park jogger assault and the Preppie Murder.[1][2] She pioneered the use of DNA evidence in sexual assault cases and advocated for victims' rights, including New York's rape shield law.[3][4] Transitioning to writing, she became a New York Times bestselling author of crime novels featuring prosecutor Alexandra Cooper, starting with Final Jeopardy in 1996.[1][5]
