Lina Beard

Lina Beard (1852-1924) was an American author and artist born in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of celebrated painter James Henry Beard. She co-authored The American Girls Handy Book with her sister Adelia Belle Beard and co-founded the first American girls' scouting group, originally known as the Girl Scout Society.
