Lilian Jackson Braun
Lilian Jackson Braun was an American author best known for her light-hearted 'The Cat Who...' mystery novel series featuring journalist Jim Qwilleran and his Siamese cats Koko and Yum Yum. She published three acclaimed novels between 1966 and 1968, paused writing for 18 years after working as a feature writer for the Detroit Free Press, and resumed the series in 1986, producing 29 books total with the last in 2007 at age 93. Born in Massachusetts and raised in Michigan, she lived in Tryon, North Carolina, in later years and passed away in 2011.
