Leonardo Boff
Leonardo Boff is a Brazilian Catholic theologian, philosopher, and writer, born Genézio Darci Boff on December 14, 1938, in Concórdia, Santa Catarina, Brazil[1][5]. He is a leading figure in Liberation Theology, known for his advocacy of social justice, human spirituality, and environmental stewardship, and received the Right Livelihood Award in 2001[1][2]. Boff was a Franciscan priest until 1992, after which he left the Church but remains active as a lay priest in poor communities[2][5].
