Leonard Uhr

Leonard Uhr (1927–October 5, 2000) was an American computer scientist and a pioneer in computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, and cognitive science. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent much of his career as a Professor in the Computer Sciences Department at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His research focused on designing artificial intelligence systems based on understanding how the human brain works.
