Leland

Charles Godfrey Leland (1824–1903) was an American author, folklorist, and lecturer known for his extensive writings on Gypsy lore, Italian witchcraft, and occult traditions. He founded the Gypsy Lore Society and authored influential texts such as 'Aradia: Gospel of the Witches,' which later became a key source for Neopaganism. Leland also wrote humorous ballads like 'Hans Breitmann’s Ballads' and contributed to journalism and ethnographic studies.
